As our Communications Writer, your work will have a direct impact on clients, staff, providers, and our local community by creating original content that informs and inspires different audiences.

Location: This position is based out of our Sylvan site.

This is a part-time position working 14 hours per week. 

Pay: $32.93-$42.61 per hour.

Salary Placement Notice:
The posted salary range reflects the compensation potential for this role. Most candidates will be placed between the entry level and midpoint of the range, depending on their experience and qualifications. However, more seasoned professionals with extensive exact or similar experience may be considered for placement toward the higher end of the range. Final salary offers are made in alignment with internal compensation processes in accordance with Oregon Pay Equity laws.

Essential responsibilities:

  • Develop and publish content for LifeWorks NW's website, newsletters, social media, marketing collateral, events, etc. using brand-specific voice and tone.
  • Assist in planning and managing internal and external communications initiatives and campaigns.
  • Create and schedule content for social media and analyze results.
  • Produce, monitor, and report on internal and external surveys.
  • Travel between sites or in the community for photos, meetings, and interviews.

Required qualifications: 

  • Experience in a professional writing environment, managing multiple deadlines and maintaining a collaborative editorial calendar. Note: A portfolio will be requested.
  • Knowledge of AP Style and ability to adhere to LifeWorks NW content style guide and visual branding standards.
  • Experience creating content for social media and tracking analytics.
  • Proficiency in Office 365, including file sharing, version control, and Teams.
  • Valid driver's license and auto insurance to attend meetings at multiple sites.
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, take direction, and meet deadlines.

Preferred qualifications:

  • B.A. in English, Public Relations, Communications, or Journalism; experience in behavioral health or health care services.
  • Familiarity with monday.com (or other project management tools), Adobe Creative Suite, Meta Business Suite. Knowledge of Wordpress or other web-based platforms for content publication highly desirable.
  • Ability to take photos or videos; video editing skills highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of the fundamentals of health literacy, responsible use of AI, email marketing automation, social media strategy, and search engine optimization highly desirable.
