Housing Liaison (QMHA) #1701

The Housing Liaison acts as a link between housing providers and residents. Responsible for ensuring that residents have access to safe and affordable housing, and that housing providers are able to meet the needs of their residents.

Location: This position is based out of LifeWorks NW's Beaverton site.

Pay/Benefits: $24.39-$31.71 per hour plus Full benefits.

Salary Placement Notice:
The posted salary range reflects the compensation potential for this role. Most candidates will be placed between the entry level and midpoint of the range, depending on their experience and qualifications. However, more seasoned professionals with extensive exact or similar experience may be considered for placement toward the higher end of the range. Final salary offers are made in alignment with internal compensation processes in accordance with Oregon Pay Equity laws.

Essential Responsibilities: 

  • Act as a primary point of contact for tenants and property owners. Serves as a resource for other staff members regarding housing questions or housing-related issues or concerns. This person has no administrative supervisory role (they do not do performance evaluations, hire or do disciplinary actions) they may have input on the evaluation which is done by the Program Coordinator/Director.
  • Coordinate housing inspections and assist with property maintenance. Provides behavioral interventions, case management and skill training to client and Adult Foster Home (AFH) staff as defined in the treatment plan. Guides clients in the development of skills and strategies for resolving housing related issues.
  • Process housing applications and maintain accurate records. Collect information about clients through interviews and observations.
  • Provide guidance and support to tenants on housing related matters. Develops and presents group activities or therapies that are appropriate for treatment such as art groups, community outings, movement, reminiscence, etc. Collaborate with other staff members to perform clinical assessments and develop treatment plans. 
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with community partners.
  • Coordinate housing goals with participants, clinical staff, and appropriate housing health services. 
  • Serve as a connection point to Washington County's Coordinated Entry System for housing and shelter services.
  •  Assist participants in locating and applying for other housing opportunities. 
  • Check e-mail/voice mail daily, responding as appropriate.
  • Demonstrates effective communication skills and maintains a cooperative working relationship with others in a culturally diverse environment.
  • Work with participants to address housing-readiness goals, including some direct financial assistance where appropriate.
  • Expand the role of the Housing Liaison to provide housing solutions.

Qualifications: 

  • A bachelor's degree in behavioral sciences field or at least three years relevant work, education, training, or experience.
  • This position requires a valid and active QMHA credential certification through MHACBO.
  • Successfully complete Washington County housing services training and HMIS for housing services.
  • Strong knowledge of housing policies and tenant rights.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are important.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively; understand mental health assessment, treatment and service terminology and individual, group, family and other counseling techniques; program policies and procedures for services and supports identified in an ISSP. (Individual Services and Supports Plan.)
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Good computer skills including a functional knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Word. Ability to master proprietary software including electronic health record systems, and proficiency in using housing management software. 
  • Demonstrates effective communication skills and maintains a cooperative working relationship with others in a culturally diverse environment.
  • Driving is required for this position.
  • Requires valid driver's license, proof of current automobile insurance coverage, verification of safe driving record from DMV, and ability to meet LWNW driving requirements.
  • Requires the ability to work some evenings and/or weekends.
  • Understands and applies medical and mental health assessment, treatment, and service terms.
