Program Director, ADTP #127

The Program Director for the Adolescent Day Treatment Program (ADTP) is responsible for managing the daily clinical and operational aspects of the program(s) including management of program(s) contracts, expenses, service quality, staff deployment, integration with local community and public relations. 

Location: This position is based out of LifeWorks NW's Tigard site

Pay/Benefits: $80,643 starting annual salary, plus Full benefits.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Establishes and maintains relationships with partner organizations within specific programs.
  • Ensures contract compliance for program areas and implements the contract statement of work.
  • Collaborates with educational and medical leadership to achieve program outcomes.
  • Develops, monitors, and ensures compliance with  program budgets and may be required to participate in grant writing and fundraising activities.
  • Provides training to community partners, agency staff, and others.
  • Monitors team and individual quality management compliance, adherence to key performance metrics, and perform day-to-day quality management tasks such as chart audits and utilization management.
  • Supervises quality management and compliance responsibilities of clinical supervisor(s).
  • Supports direct reports with performance concerns including establishing clear expectations regarding performance and providing necessary training.
  • Recognizes employee successes and addresses performance issues promptly and effectively.
  • Establishes direct service expectations for clinical staff and monitors employee productivity, documentation, and insurance authorizations.
  • Manages the hiring process, including orientation and training, and oversees program training related to medication administration and crisis intervention models.
  • Meets with staff individually and as a group for regular supervision (meeting with staff a minimum of 2 times per month) and maintains accurate and timely documentation of supervisory meetings.
  • Provides direct service, milieu coverage, and crisis consultation for the program area as needed.
  • Ensures standards for documentation and work accuracy are met for self and supervisees including timely completion of progress notes, assessments, treatment plans, and authorization requests. 
  • Ensures adherence to the clinical model and/or evidence-based practices and maintains the quality of clinical practice for self and supervisees.
  • Meets expectations for being an effective supervisor and team member.
  • Manages performance evaluations and addresses program concerns within the program area.
  • Provides oversight to ensure program meets OARs including restraint and seclusion, medication administration, food safety, and other regulations.
  • May be contacted after hours to provide the best possible care to clients with unanticipated acute/emergent needs.
  • Completes required program reports, including those needed for supervisory responsibilities, in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Check e-mail/voice mail daily when working.
  • Attend informational, clinical and management meetings, which may include all-agency, team and consultation meetings, staffing, intra-agency training, etc.  May represent LifeWorks NW at community meetings.
  • Continually increase level of cultural sensitivity, awareness, and competency.
  • Coordinates and/or oversees referrals into the program(s).
  • Support staff in using the Feedback-Informed Treatment service delivery approach to obtain and review feedback from clients regarding the fit and effectiveness of the services provided to them.
  • Encourages staff to offer services from a person-centered, family-centered, trauma-informed, equity focused, and integrated care perspective.
  • Participate in a culture of feedback at the agency by eliciting feedback to promote professional growth and assess work effectiveness.
  • Supports team in meeting agency and team goals and metrics.
  • Responsible for ongoing program development, including developing and implementing new programs in coordination with business and strategic plans. 

REQUIREMENTS: Equivalent education and/or experience may be substituted for qualifications.  Requirements are representative of minimum levels of knowledge, skills and/or abilities.  To perform this job successfully, the employee will possess the abilities or aptitudes to perform each task proficiently.

  • This position requires a valid and active QMHP credential certification through MHACBO or a valid and active status (licensed or registered intern) with an approved Oregon licensing board.
  • Program Directors in mental health programs providing clinical supervision must meet QMHP requirements and have completed two years of post-graduate clinical experience in a mental health treatment setting. 
  • Demonstrated experience (3 plus years) in a program area including two years of progressively responsible clinical and administrative experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of outreach, engagement, and/or treatment strategies for the program population.
  • Must be able to demonstrate competence in leadership, wellness, oversight and evaluation of services, staff development, service planning, case management and coordination, utilization of community resources, group, family and individual therapy or counseling, documentation and rationale for service to promote intended outcomes and implementation of LWNW policies. 
  • Ability to network and promote program(s) in the community as needed which may include public speaking.
  • Good computer skills including a functional knowledge of Outlook, Word and Excel.  Ability to master use of proprietary software including electronic health record system.
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills and ability to provide culturally-competent treatment services to diverse client populations.
  • Ability to perform essential functions of job without creating a direct threat to the safety of self or others.
  • Must have skills necessary to become a CESIS and complete this process once hired
  • Driving is not a requirement for this position.
