LifeWorks NW's Quality Assurance and Process Improvement Coordinator II is a core contributor to the Quality Assurance and Process Improvement team. The QAPI team is the primary point of contact for clinical documentation and compliance questions. The Coordinator II executes customer service activities related to clinical documentation and compliance, including creating and leading staff training on these topics as needed. The Coordinator II audits charts, participates/leads quality improvement projects and change management initiatives, and works to develop the skills necessary to lead quality improvement and change management work independently. The Coordinator II investigates HIPAA violations and fraud, waste and abuse reports, responds to client and staff complaints, conducts internal audits, and prepares for state/country relicensing external audits.
Location: This position is based out of LifeWorks NW's Sylvan site.
Pay/Benefits: $69,869-$90,411 annual salary, plus Full benefits.
Salary Placement Notice:
The posted salary range reflects the compensation potential for this role. Most candidates will be placed between the entry level and midpoint of the range, depending on their experience and qualifications. However, more seasoned professionals with extensive exact or similar experience may be considered for placement toward the higher end of the range. Final salary offers are made in alignment with internal compensation processes in accordance with Oregon Pay Equity laws.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Develops and delivers staff training on Feedback Informed Treatment (FIT), the ORS/SRS tool, chart audits, HIPAA and CFR 42 Part 2 regulations, Medicaid/Medicare fraud, waste, and abuse, and other topics in response to staff need
- Provides research, conducts reviews/investigations, and writes recommendations regarding quality complaints, compliance issues, and HIPAA violations
- Drafts and updates policies and procedures pertinent to the Quality Assurance and Process Improvement program
- Executes internal audits
- Facilitates the completion of external audits
- Assists with an/or leads quality improvement work utilizing established methodologies such as Lean and Six Sigma
- Attends internal and external meetings as required
- Interacts with LWNW billing department to ensure proper documentation for service delivery
- Trouble shoots clinical software issues and reports EHR issues to IT
- Participates in professional development activities, maintains professional affiliations and promotes staff interactions, harmony and teamwork
- In the interest of continuing to understand the evolution of the EMR and changes in clinical practice, Coordinator II may maintain a small caseload in the area of their clinical specialty
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree; MHACBO QMHP level of certification
- Requires clinical experience with psychiatric and substance use disorders
- Able to write, present, and facilitate trainings that engage participants in a positive learning environment
- Ability to examine clinical documentation for accuracy, compliance and completeness
- Knowledge of and adherence to HIPAA rules and regulations that protect Personal Health Information (PHI and ePHI)
- Ability to work effectively with clients and co-workers
- Ability to communicate clearly
- A basic knowledge of Oregon Administrative Rules
- Proficiency with the Microsoft suite of software
- Ability to master use of proprietary software including electronic health record.
Preferred Qualifications
- CADC preferred
- 1-3 years in similar role/department within the behavioral health field preferred
