Program Director #110 - HIRING BONUS

This Program Director oversees LifeWorks NW's STRIDE program. STRIDE (Strengthening Tools for Recovery, Independence, Determination and Empowerment) connects 14 to 25-year-olds to services that support wellbeing and independence. Services include peer support, case management, outreach and engagement. This program is community-based in Multnomah, Clackamas and Washington Counties. 

This position is responsible for managing the daily clinical aspects of an integrated team of clinical staff including service quality, staff deployment, and integration within the site.

Location: Portland metro area

Compensation: $1,000 sign-on bonus. $66,874 - $73,561 annual salary and full comprehensive benefits.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement new programs in coordination with business and strategic plan.
  • Coordinate partner organization relationships within specific program.
  • Monitor contract compliance for program areas. Implement contract statement of work.
  • Assist in developing and monitoring program budgets. May be required to participate in grant writing and fund-raising activities.
  • Provide training to community partners, agency staff, and others.
  • Monitor quality management compliance and perform day to day quality management tasks (chart audits, utilization management, etc.).
  • Provide assistance to direct reports with work issues, including establishing clear expectations regarding performance and training.
  • Provide support and attention to employee successes and address performance issues promptly and effectively.
  • Establish direct service expectations for clinical staff. Monitor employee productivity, documentation, and insurance authorizations.
  • Coordinate hiring process including orientation and training.
  • Meet with staff individually and as a group for regular supervision a minimum of 2 times per month. Maintain accurate documentation of supervisory meetings.
  • Provide crisis consultation for program area. May provide direct service.
  • Meet standards for documentation and work accuracy as defined in the Performance Evaluation for self, including supervising timely completion of progress notes, assessments, treatment plans, and authorization requests.
  • Meet standards for direct service including accountability for supervisees; implement and ensure adherence of the clinical model and/or evidence based practices and quality of clinical practice for self and supervisees.
  • Meet expectations for being an effective supervisor and team member.
  • Complete required program reports timely and accurately, including those needed for supervisory responsibilities.
  • Check e-mail and voicemail throughout each work day; respond to routine matters within 48 hours and more immediately for urgent matters.

Qualifications: 

  • Master's degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or Mental Health Related field required. 
  • Licensure preferred.
  • QMHP credential either through Mental Health & Addiction Certification Board of Oregon (MHACBO) or by obtaining and maintaining active internship, or licensed with an eligible state licensing board. All prospective candidates must either have a valid MHACBO registration number or licensing intern number upon hire. 
  • Must meet QMHP requirements and have completed two years of post-graduate clinical experience in a mental health treatment setting.
  • Demonstrated experience (3 plus years) in a program area including two years of progressively responsible clinical and administrative experience.
  • Demonstrated competence in leadership, program planning, budgeting, fiscal management, supervision of program staff, personnel management, program staff performance assessment, use of data, reporting, program evaluation, quality assurance, and developing and coordinating community resources.
  • Requires access to a vehicle, a valid driver's license, proof of current automobile insurance coverage, and verification of safe driving record from DMV. Must meet LifeWorks NW driving requirements.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of outreach, engagement, and/or treatment strategies for the program population.
  • Ability to network and promote program in the community, which may include public speaking.
  • Must have good computer skills, including a functional knowledge of Outlook, Word, and Excel as well as the ability to master the use of proprietary software, including the electronic health record system.
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills and ability to provide culturally-competent treatment services to diverse client populations.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred but not required.
