UA Technician, On Call #1719

The UA Tech collects urine samples from clients in multiple locations.

Location: This position is based out of LifeWorks NW's King site.

Pay: $21.12-$27.46 per hour. 

Salary Placement Notice:
The posted salary range reflects the compensation potential for this role. Most candidates will be placed between the entry level and midpoint of the range, depending on their experience and qualifications. However, more seasoned professionals with extensive exact or similar experience may be considered for placement toward the higher end of the range. Final salary offers are made in alignment with internal compensation processes in accordance with Oregon Pay Equity laws.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Observe and collect direct urine samples in a professional and respectful manner at multiple LifeWorks NW locations based on random scheduling.
  • Adhere strictly to procedures in handling collections, samples and information ensuring timely and accurate records of all aspects of UA labeling and forwarding.
  • Maintain client confidentiality. Maintains confidentiality of records relating to clients' treatment.
  • Order and restock urinalysis supplies as needed.
  • Assist with phone inquiries from clients and partner agencies in a professional manner maintaining client confidentiality.
  • Attend informational and clinical meetings which may include all-agency meetings, team meetings, consultation meetings with psychiatrist, staffing, intra-agency trainings, etc. as required.
  • All services must be provided in a culturally appropriate and respectful manner. Continually increase level of cultural sensitivity, awareness and competency.
  • Completes tasks accurately within defined timeframes with minimal supervision.
  • Consistently helps cover for co-workers when needed and willingly accepts and follows through with other tasks as needed.
  • Collaborates with other staff members to engage clients in following program guidelines and adhering to treatment plans.
  • Documents and maintains client records in electronic healthcare system within 24 hours of client care to ensure compliance with LifeWorks NW and contractual guidelines.
  • Checks e-mail/voicemail daily the day when working responding as appropriate.
  • Coordinates services with other LifeWorks NW staff including admin staff, clinical staff, and possibly prescribers.
  • Serve as back-up for other UA staff when needed; back-up other clinical staff for UA collection when requested
  • May need to travel between sites or in the community.
  • May need to work evenings and/or weekends, depending on job assignment.
  • Follows safety and health protocols as directed.

REQUIREMENTS

  • An associate degree in behavioral sciences field or at least two years' relevant work, education, training, or experience is preferred.
  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • If recovering from a substance abuse related disorder, must be able to demonstrate continuous sobriety under nonresidential, independent living conditions for the immediate past two years.
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriate boundaries.
  • Demonstrates effective communication skills and maintains a cooperative working relationship with others in a culturally diverse environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively. Knowledge of treatment and service terminology and individual program policies and procedures for services.
  • Computer skills including data entry, use of mouse, ability to navigate website and use common web browser.
  • Good computer skills including a functional knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, MS Excel, and Word. Ability to master proprietary software including electronic health record system
  • Requires ability to work some evenings and/or weekends
  • Requires access to car.
  • Requires valid driver's license, proof of current automobile insurance coverage, verification of safe driving record from DMV, and ability to meet LWNW driving requirements.
