Senior Marketing Designer #977

The Senior Marketing Designer designs, develops and oversees production of graphics for brand and programmatic internal and external marketing and communications campaigns, using print, digital, SWAG and outdoor channels. Manages distribution of all materials.

Location: This position is based out of LifeWorks NW's Sylvan site

Pay/Benefits: $69,131 starting annual pay plus Full benefits.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Manage graphic design for LifeWorks NW, as part of Marketing & Communications department's commitment to engaging internal and external audiences in organizational goals, strategies and programs.
  • Create and design materials to include, but not limited to; print and interactive collateral such as newsletters, posters, brochures, flyers, decks, web and social media graphics and content.
  • Apply professional graphic design principles and develop new ideas to support business development and internal/external engagement.
  • Design, develop and create visual concepts for marketing campaigns, web-based channels and events.
  • Expand LifeWorks NW's communications and marketing channels beyond just print, with an emphasis on website management, SEO growth, and video and animation development. 
  • Manage website updates and oversee production development and corrections by supervising web production vendors. 
  • Provide design advice and guidance to internal clients, taking verbal and written input and applying them to content and graphic illustrations.
  • Manage large and complex projects from start to finish.
  • Oversee printing, and work closely with outside vendors and printing companies to ensure company and department standards and brand guidelines are met.
  • Manage distribution of materials.
  • Stay informed on design software and marketing/design trends both inside and outside of the mental health industry and apply new concepts and presentations to our business.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of digital marketing, brand oversite and communications.
  • Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
  • Proven record of expertise with design software applications and tools. Advanced knowledge in the use of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Acrobat) for a PC.
  • Must have intermediate working knowledge of Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Database experience is a plus.
Work Activities

Manage design efforts - To craft initial designs and collaborate with Director of Marketing & Communications on final print, digital and production materials.

Work closely with the Director of Marketing & Communications--To help create and implement marketing and communications campaigns for all stakeholders, social media efforts, events support and brand implementation. 

Manage print and production needs - By working with vendors to determine bids, quality and timeliness, ensure that all production is of the highest quality, on time and on budget.

Work closely with Development Team - To design outstanding graphics for key fundraising events.

Work closely with Program Directors and COMs - To ensure brand consistency across all materials, to provide new publications and update older ones as information changes. Make sure that all print and digital materials are graphically pleasing, compliant and effective.

Developing web graphics and managing updates-To ensure overall look and information are updated, attractive, engaging, on brand and support SEO efforts. Design new graphic look/content for all new sites, such as HRIS e3 and recruitment sites, etc.

Other digital support - Creating staff-centric Zoom video graphics, designing social media and web graphics, providing backup for media tracking.

Support staff engagement - Collaborating with director to develop recognition concepts, plus designing SWAG and participating in the design of weekly, monthly and tri-annual newsletter.

Ensuring client-centric events are stocked - Provide table staffers with SWAG, print materials, signage, linens and all required materials.

Knowledge

Digital skills - Knowledge of graphic design and word processing software; managing publication library and photo library.

English language - Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language.

Customer and personal service - The knowledge of principles and processes for establishing and maintaining internal and external client relationships. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

Skills 

  • Exceptional written, verbal, and visual communication skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop, Word Press, Acrobat, Premiere, Word Press.
  • Creative problem-solving, strategic thinking, and a strong user-centered design process.

  • Advanced production management skills, with the ability to seek out and effectively work with vendors to ensure the highest quality, best cost, timely products, while ensuring positive relationships and reputation.

  • Respect for the written word, a passion for unifying visual and written messages, and expertise in storytelling that meets the needs of a range of stakeholders with varying levels of education.

  • Practiced in gracefully collaborating with internal clients--giving and receiving constructive creative feedback.
  • Production preparation, bidding, coordination and oversite expertise, and the ability to work effectively with production vendors to produce outstanding products. Expertise in press checks.
